About the Queensland University Games Society

QUGS is the gaming society of the University of Queensland, affiliated with the Student Union. The Society currently includes roleplayers, wargamers, boardgamers, card gamers, chess players, computer gamers, play-by-mail gamers, and more! You don't have to be a student to join: membership costs $5.00 a year, and everyone is welcome!

As a member, you are entitled to:

  1. A discount at various gaming shops in Brisbane, including Napoleon's Military Bookshop (5%), Ace Comics and Games (5%), Fastbreak Sports (10%), Mindrush Hobbies (10%) and Wargames Warehouse (15%). All you have to do is show your membership card on purchase and say you're from QUGS.
  2. Register yourself on the Society's list of gamers and their gaming interests. We can help you find people who share your gaming interests and desires, making it easier for you to enjoy our common hobbies.
  3. Borrow from the Society's "Cupboard" of magazines, books and boardgames. We've been assembling our collection for almost thirty years, and members can borrow items for up to one month.
  4. Advertise any games, books, magazines or other gaming items on our Yahoo mailing list and our for sale page.
  5. Discounted entry fees to any events run by the Society, whether social get-togethers, movie nights, or tournaments.

Interested? Then contact the Management Commitee for more information or come along to one of our regular meetings.
